Here's to Mothers!

Good morning!
I hope everyone is doing well. Got an early start to my day. Enjoying a cup of coffee with cinnamon toast and cream cheese! Yum!! The highlight of my morning  (besides actually waking up lol): there was a bird perched outside my window. Lovely! I got lost in the beauty of the moment--listening to her song.
Ahhh it was peaceful and all was right with the world....

Then the phone rang. My doctor's office reminding me of an appointment. The alarm went off which I've strategically placed away from my bed forcing me to get up to turn it off (or hit snooze). On the way, I stumped my toe. Dropped the phone, it fell apart.  My original choice for breakfast was my favorite--some Kashi cereal. You guessed it--the milk had spoiled.

I went back to the window to find that bird that lured me into thinking her song was the start to a BEAUTIFUL day! >:-|  Of course she was gone. And the phone rings again. "Good morning, baby! You alright today?" my Mother's voice :-D Ahhh it was soothing and all was right with the world...

Here's to Mothers who have the amazing power to bring happiness in the smallest gestures!

Enjoying The Journey

Good morning! Well I woke up to a cold crisp day!  Loving this weather! When I rolled my garbage can out to the street, I noticed trashed in the street in front of my house. So, I picked up the trash, got my morning paper, and looked up and there was my house.

You're thinking "ooookay, it wasn't like it was going to move. You knew it was there." But I really looked at it and you see it on TV but it happened to me. As I stood there, my life journey to that moment just flashed through my mind. I was reminded of all that God has brought me through. Thinking of how His grace, favor, mercy, and love have kept me through the years. Oh and I can't forget His peace! There is nothing in this world like peace of mind!! Wouldn't you agree? :-)

Standing there as the cold wind blew all around me, I was happy. Happy and grateful that I've had the opportunity to be a homeowner, to see a dream realized, and to have my family and friends enjoy my home. You know I've learned that happiness is attached to something deeper and not to material things. Being connected to the Creator and knowing that you are connected to all of creation is happiness--for me.

Everyday I nourish and work on that connection because it is my lifeline. :-) Now I don't feel happy everyday.  Nevertheless, my desire is to have more good days than bad. As simple as it sounds, it took me 30+ years to  finally truly understand this quote and I invite you to begin to embrace it [if you haven't already ;-)]:

"Happiness is a journey, not a destination; happiness is to be found along the way not at the end of the road, for then the journey is over and it's too late. The time for happiness is today not tomorrow." ~ Paul H Dunn

Peace & Blessings always

Soul Sunday

Ah Sunday! It's a beautiful day here in south Georgia! I have a bowl of Kellog's Crunchy Nut and a cup of coffee--a perfect start to my day! ;-) Yes it's almost 2pm but I slept in today.

I'm watching Soul Sunday on OWN. It's interesting so far. The show I'm watching now is about a guy who believes he sees angels, demons, auras and ghosts. (Wake up with Jonas Elrod)  He was struggling with his gift. So, in order to understand it and to hear what God was saying to him, he went on a vision quest. It's a tradition in Native American culture. Hmm I can't fully describe it but you can read more about it here:  Vision Quest Link

Lesson? People get to happy in different ways. Oh and the tribe that is helping with his vision quest has no word for "goodbye" or "religion" in their language. Wow....

Enjoy the moment

I felt amazingly happy today! :-) Actually, this wonderful feeling was the motivation for starting this blog.  I was trying to find the reason why I felt so good but instead decided to just enjoy it. Ever notice how when you attempt to analyze and define moments, they seem to diminish? So, I'm doing less of that now. Much appreciation goes to Oprah!  I've been watching Oprah's LifeClass this past week. Has anyone else been watching?  I've really experienced some awakening moments. I tell you I have cried through every class. :-) Thank God for DVR because I will be watching them again for sure.

My life has been a roller coaster ride these past 2 years or so and I have truly truly learned so much. There was a lot of pain, depression, confusion, doubt, loneliness. Praise God I was able to find the blessing in the darkness. And that blessing was my truth--straight with no chaser! lol  That's why I can say yeah--I think I'm happy now! I'm loving life, loving me and loving my spiritual relationship with The Creator!   Oh if you're interested in the LifeClass, the link is under the e-Highway to Happiness below. cute right?
