Foodie Friday:Jazz, Cajun & Creole!

This will be a short post but well worth your read. I had to tell you about this little place my family and I visited in Columbia, MO--Jazz, A Louisiana Kitchen: Cajun and Creole Restaurant!

As I sit here with my fingers on the keys, I'm trying to think of the words to adequately describe my meal. It was just soooo good! LOL The servings were more than generous and we all enjoyed..everything! The staff was friendly and welcoming.

So here's the menu: style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

My order:
A small bowl of Gumbo
and the reason I'll be visiting again very soon..

CHICKEN A LA MER!
Crispy and juicy chicken topped with shrimp and crab parmesan cream sauce over a bed of rice with your choice of veggies!!  I borrowed this pic from my niece who ordered the same thing. My sis ordered blackened catfish. Yep she was jealous of our dishes! lol But that catfish? Delish!

To sum up, the food is fresh and divinely appetizing! The atmosphere is fun and the staff is friendly!  Some nights you can even enjoy live music.   According to their website, they're only 5 in the country--Lubbock, TX, Kansas City, MO, Kansas City, Columbia, MO and Omaha, NE.  My sincere apologies to the rest of the United States.

Have you dined at Jazz, A Louisiana Kitchen? I'd love to hear from ya in the comments!

Love Notes from God: My Kind of Love

New blog post on Feasting on the Divine with Trinka Polite

My Beautiful Children,

You may be gifted to speak the heavenly languages, have the gift of prophecy, understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and even have all the faith to remove mountains. Yet, My chosen ones, if you don't have love, show love, the preceding is nothing!

Love is patient; love is kind. Love isn’t envious, doesn’t boast, brag, or strut about. There’s no arrogance in love; it’s never rude, crude, or indecent—it’s not self-absorbed. Love isn’t easily upset. Love doesn’t tally wrongs or celebrate injustice; but truth—yes, truth—is love’s delight! Love puts up with anything and everything that comes along; it trusts, hopes, and endures no matter what.

Love others the way I love you.

Always,
Your Abba Father

1 Corinthians 13:1-7  King James Version (KJV)

13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

1 Corinthians 13:1-7 The Voice (VOICE)

 What if I speak in the most elegant languages of people or in the exotic languages of the heavenly messengers, but I live without love? Well then, anything I say is like the clanging of brass or a crashing cymbal. 2 What if I have the gift of prophecy, am blessed with knowledge and insight to all the mysteries, or what if my faith is strong enough to scoop a mountain from its bedrock, yet I live without love? If so, I am nothing. 3 I could give all that I have to feed the poor, I could surrender my body to be burned as a martyr, but if I do not live in love, I gain nothing by my selfless acts.

Love is patient; love is kind. Love isn’t envious, doesn’t boast, brag, or strut about. There’s no arrogance in love; 5 it’s never rude, crude, or indecent—it’s not self-absorbed. Love isn’t easily upset. Love doesn’t tally wrongs 6 or celebrate injustice; but truth—yes, truth—is love’s delight! 7 Love puts up with anything and everything that comes along; it trusts, hopes, and endures no matter what.
