To me, the song is a love story between the singer and the Lord. It’s about a
relationship where one person was far away and hurting. The Other was there all
the time listening and comforting in ways the hurting one obviously could not comprehend. Then, something miraculous happens—the hurting one feels,
realizes, and begins to long for the love of the Other. And He is right there with open arms! What a wonderful peace to know you always have Someone to turn to "when troubles rise."
The Lord is ever-present listening for every groan, hurt and pain we express. When you feel alone in the world. When your hurt seems inconsolable. When you don’t know where to turn, you can hasten
(quickly move) to His throne!
