Journey to a Fit Life

Today, I want to share with you a small write-up I did for my gym's newsletter.

Hi! My name is Trinka Polite, and I joined Anytime Fitness not to lose weight or to start a diet. My goal? I needed a healthy lifestyle change! I have a family history of diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure.  Seeing the damage it could cause, I made a decision to chart a different course for my life and seriously address my health issues. I started on my own by learning about nutrition and checking out workout DVDs from the library. Visits to my doctor revealed slight decreases in my "numbers," but it wasn't significant enough. My goal is to eliminate reliance on prescription medication.

It took prayer to find the motivation and determination to join a gym, but I finally called Anytime Fitness and Ruth answered. As we were talking, the call actually disconnected.  I thought just as I conjured up the will to call, this happens. Seconds later, Ruth's bubbly and motivating voice is back on the line saying, "Now where were we?" Her calling back confirmed this was the place to be!

That was over 3 months ago!  My doctor has been able to alter my meds, because I have now embraced a healthy lifestyle-not a diet and not obsessing over weight (even though I have many pounds to lose). My blood pressure is in the normal range now and other readings have dropped by half! I have more energy and the positive results definitely spill over into every area of my life-less stress at work, better focus, etc.  Plus, being a member of gym with 24-hour access allows for late night workouts to help me de-stress and unwind.

When you read those tips about just 15-30 minutes of exercise 3 times a week makes a difference, it's true!! I have my workout time scheduled on my calendar like any other appointment. I love it and it's fun!  I'm so grateful to Ruth, Lori and the Anytime Fitness staff for being supportive, patient and caring!  My life has changed!
