My My! You're Looking Good!

Believe it or not, yesterday was National Compliment Someone Day. According to what I’ve read, the idea is to say something nice about at least 5 people. You can find more information here

A compliment is a simple way to bring a bit of happy to someone else. However, when you lift someone’s spirit, you’re enriching your spirit as well. Who knows? You may be the one positive voice that makes a difference in a friend's, family member's, coworker's or stranger's day!

Why should it be a one-day event? Let's uplift and encourage purposely the whole weekend! Don’t stop at 5!

Feel free to share your experience. I’ll be sure to post about my “compliment spree” as well.

*Update*
It was a great weekend and a wonderful week of spreading encouragement! You really do feel little warm fuzzies as you see a smile spread across someone's face or witness a spark of confidence.

When I was in grad school, I remember hearing a quote--"Be the person you wish you knew as a child." These words helped change my perspective and influenced the type of counselor I wanted to be--one who encouraged and empowered people to reach their full potential.

I’m Trinka Polite! Georgia native! Aunt Extraordinaire (at least I think so)! Lover of divinely delicious food! Servant of God and I gratefully accept my calling as counselor, poet, and speaker. My mission?

As a counselor, it is to empower you to access your full potential and live more authentically!

As a poet, it is to share words to inspire love, deliverance from hurtful situations and encourage a renewed relationship with God.

As a speaker, it is to provide a dynamic experience which will actively engage you and your group in learning and growing.

My professional background includes over 14 years as a Career Counselor providing education planning and career guidance.  I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and National Board Certified Counselor with a Master’s degree in Psychology.  My publications include After the Sixth Day: Notes from a Spiritual Journey and Pain is Fertile Ground—poetry collections focused on spiritual awakening and growth.

On a more personal note, the southern lady that I am loves to cook (have you seen my Pinterest board?) and have fun with my family!  Are there any two things that bring more joy to a G.R.I.T.S. (Girl raised in the south)? Lol

I hope we stay connected because new ventures are on the way to enlighten your mind and to partner with you to chart a course for your success!

Peace & Blessings!
